Junes - Music
Video
In collaboration with La Maison de la culture Claude-Léveillée on sound
Singer-songwriter Junes perfectly embodies Montreal's emerging musical talent. With her electro-pop style, she brings contemporary themes to life, all set to melodies reminiscent of the energy of Dua Lipa, the depth of Billie Eilish, and the freshness of Angèle.
A jazz graduate from Cégep de Saint-Laurent in 2019, she took off with her first EP, "Ok," released in 2021, which attracted media attention such as Salut Bonjour, Radio-Canada, and SiriusXM.
Desiring to establish herself, Junes is releasing her debut album, Jamais assez, jamais trop, in the fall of 2024. This project quickly attracted the attention of magazines such as Cool!, as well as personalities like Catherine Pogonat and Nicolas Ouellet, and allowed her to present her work at the Festival en chanson de Granby and the M pour Montréal festival.
Jamais assez, jamais trop promises to reveal even more facets of her captivating musical universe, thus affirming Junes' place in the essential Montreal music scene.

Joe Grass - Spoon (Live Session)
... Robbie Kuster drums, percussion, backing vocals
Joe Grass guitars, vocals
JoeGrass has dedicated most of his relatively short life to exploring songs and sounds.
Since moving to Montreal from Moncton, NB, he has become one of the city's most sought-after musical partners. His collaborations include Lhasa, the Barr Brothers, and his own avant-pop band, Klaus. He also co-produced Elisapie's Polaris and Juno Award-winning album, The Ballad of the Runaway Girl, and produced her new album, Inuktitut. He also contributed to the writing and arrangements of Patrick Watson's Love Songs for Robots and Wave. He is currently promoting Falcon's Heart, his fourth solo album.
Their live show is an exploration of song and form, where the audience becomes the fourth member of the band. The musicians blend dynamically with the audience: they take you on a journey, cast spells, and tell stories rooted in the present while projecting the voices of many rich traditions into the future. Defying genre, this trio of guitar (JoeGrass), harmonica (Lévy Bourbonnais), and drums (Jose Major) adapts to the moment and takes a form that allows them to tell their stories of joy, hardship, and wonder. They are currently performing songs from Joe's latest album, Falcon's Heart.
Wednesday, July 9 – 7 p.m.

They invite you to an encounter and they bring living art back to life like two ethereal souls traveling through time. Aerial fabric, aerial hoop, adagio duet, comedy and weaving duet an aerial loop.

Kelly Bado - Music
... Drawing inspiration from her African roots, the emotional depth of American gospel, and the poetic beauty of French chanson, Kelly's show is a celebration of cultures and human experiences.
Kelly's new arrangements, dynamic presence, and storytelling immerse us in a world that evokes the innovation of Stromae, the soothing melodies of Yuna, the vocal power of Angélique Kidjo, and her deep connection to African traditions. Her performance is a vibrant tapestry that weaves together the best of these influences while adding her own unique voice.
Singing in several languages, including French, English, Attié (a language passed down from her parents), and Wolof, Kelly's performances consistently demonstrate the importance of keeping traditional languages alive. Each song is a carefully crafted work, blending traditional sounds with modern influences to create a unique alchemy that honors her heritage and invites exploration. Her show is not just a concert; it is a linguistic, cultural, and heartfelt experience.
Join Kelly Bado for a show that promises not only to entertain but also to inspire. May her music be the bridge that connects us all, as we rejoice in the universal language of song.

Wooden Beings - Dance
... Beings of wood, the company takes the audience into the dust, the trampling, and the grounding. Movements of gregariousness, of herd in communion, form a deep, stamping pulse, crying out for survival. Sisterhood of the forests and herd of the tundra, the four performers: Geneviève Robitaille, Vicky Gélineau, Marie-Ève Dion, and Claudelle Bilodeau, offer a representation of the Nature woman, inspired by the woodland caribou and its power. Energy, community spirit, power, and vitality are showcased.
Born from the "Adik, Caribou" project in collaboration with Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux-Noranda, Êtres de bois is a creation born from multidisciplinary co-creation and intersectional research between dance, documentary, art, science, and Indigenous ancestral knowledge. Representing the guardian of the land and roaming the imaginary and real territory of Abitibi, the caribou is at the origin of a project aimed at exploring the caribou, its way of life and its natural habitat, but also those who share its territory and fight for its survival, which is currently in danger.
It is through the use of driftwood, a forest element that flows down the waterlogged territory and washes up on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, that the connection between caribou antlers, forest wood, driftwood, and the world of Fleuve Espace Danse was created. An epiphany that brings to this latest creation a unique aesthetic and a meaningful choreographic universe.
